Bahamas Realty’s chief executive, Larry Roberts, is the first Bahamas Real Estate Association (BREA) member to be nominated by the Bahamas Financial Services Board (BFSB) for its Executive of the Year award. part of the 2013 Award of Excellence programme.

Coretta Owen, BREA’s representative on the BFSB, announced the nomination in an e-mail to BREA members this week, saying: “The Bahamas Real Estate Association is pleased and honoured to announce that one of our members (Mr Larry W. Roberts) has been nominated for Executive of the Year at the BFSB annual Excellence Awards Banquet.

“Mr Roberts has been a pioneer in the field of real estate, and has contributed significantly to the growth and development of real estate in the Bahamas. We are especially pleased, as this is the first time a member of the Bahamas Real Estate Association has been nominated. BFSB recognises that the real estate industry plays a major role in the economy of the Bahamas and we agree.”

She urged BREA members to “show your support by attending this prestigious event, which is scheduled for theis Friday at the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort’s Independence Ballroom.

Mr Roberts, who has more than 45 years of real estate industry experience, has twice served as BREA president. He also captured the NAI Global President’s Award at the NAI Commercial Real Estate Conference in Las Vegas this year. NAI Global is one of the world’s leading providers of commercial real estate services.

Mr Roberts is a graduate of Rollins College, US. His other designations include: Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR); Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS); Certified Residential Specialist (CRS); Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS); Transnational Referral Certification (TRC); e-PRO; licensed broker and member and past president of the Bahamas Real Estate Association; international member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR); member of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI); past president of the Rotary Club of South East Nassau; Real Estate Cyber Society (RECS).

He is a Board Member of: Leading Real Estate Companies of the World International Advisory Board (IAB); Bahamas Financial Services Board (BFSB); Nassau Tourism & Development Board (NTDB); Downtown Nassau Partnership (DNP).
