Man killed as car hits fuel truck

A man was killed in an early morning car collison with a fuel truck on Carmichael Road yesterday and, in a separate incident, police are on the hunt for two men responsible for shooting two teens and a man.

The fatal traffic incident occured around 4.15am yesterday.

Police say the victim was driving a green Honda CRV SUV east along Carmichael Road, just east of Bacardi Road, when he collided into a blue fuel truck being driven in the opposite direction by a 37-year old male.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police say, and the accident remains under investigation.

The shooting occured on Thursday, just before 6pm, in the Union Village area.

According to police, the victims - a 21-year-old man, 19-year-old man, and 17-year-old young man were standing in front of a small business when two men armed with handgun approached them.

The gunmen fired several shots, police say, and fled on foot.

The victims were taken to hospital where they are detained in stable condition for gunshot wounds received to the leg and hip area.
