FLORIDA police have arrested a man in connection with the theft of Golden Knight Demetrius Pinder’s Olympic gold medal.
According to reports, investigators found the medal after they arrested 22-year-old Allen Jeffrey Nichols on September 19.
Nichols did not have the 24-carat medal on him at the time, said officials, who uncovered the medal sometime later that day.
Nichols was charged with grand theft, a second degree felony.
Mr Pinder said the medal was stolen from his truck when he accidentally left it in the centre console on September 11.
Pinder won the medal as part of the 4x400 meter relay team for the Bahamas.
The theft of the 24-karat gold medal occurred in the 4600 block of 66th Street West in Bradenton, a city in Manatee County, Florida.

Great news for young Comrade "Olympian" Demetrius but what a lost international marketing opportunity it has been for the marketing "geniuses" over at KALIK, all of we Bahamalanders, residents and tourists most preferred beer company. it ain't like minister Obie couldn't have used some free tourism promotion campaign. Oh well what in the hell do I know.
