A WILD police chase ended outside Princess Margaret Hospital yesterday morning when a suspect crashed his vehicle into a nurse’s car.

The man was driving a black Honda. Police started chasing him on Bay Street after receiving reports that a man had robbed another man of a large amount of cash and jewellery.

The chase ended on Elizabeth Avenue when the man crashed into a car at about 9:15 am.

According to reports, the suspect tried to flee the scene after crashing his car on attempting to enter the Princess Margaret Hospital grounds through the entrance to the maternity ward. However, PMH security quickly denied him entrance and police officers arrested him shortly afterward.

Although there were reports that the suspect had a gun and that gunshots were fired in the area, Judy Terrell-Hamilton, Communications Manager of the Public Hospital Authority, said the reports were not true.

She added that no one was injured during the incident.
