Hard Rock Cafe 'to close'

STAFF members at Hard Rock Cafe have reportedly been called to a morning meeting today amid fears that it is to close down.

Workers were called last night and told to attend the meeting, which would be attended by the management and also, they were told, by the liquidator.

The business, in downtown Nassau, has about 33 employees. The franchise in the Bahamas is owned by Kevin Doyle.

Well it is expected! The service and the attitude of our Bahamian people working there, was awful! There is no repeat business, (Bahamian Residents) they must relied on the Tourist business, and of course of a bad reports to the Cruise Ships. Well what were they saying??? The Tourist Business must have stopped also! They lasted longer than I thought!

But one last thing, the problem with attitude, it is a Nationwide PROBLEM, and all Business in the Bahamas suffer from this! Owners, and the Managers of Business here have a nightmare job with it!

I have always felt Bahamians as a whole have this air of entitlement. "Oh I am doing you a favour serving you this meal" rather than "Thank you for your patronage, there are so many other places you could have went. How can I further make this experience memorable?"

And the attitude they have with their own people pisses me off. My brother grew up in the US and therefore has an American accent, I grew up in the Bahamas and therefore my accent is Bahamian. I have experienced first hand the difference of treatment. When we go out and he speaks they are ready to bring him the ocean, but hear me speak and it's like "wth you want".

Generally speaking the Bahamas needs to develop pride as a country, pride in ourselves as Bahamians, pride for one another and then maybe we might have a chance to save this country.

Considering that almost our entire economy is bases on customer service (tourism) than this is a problem. We have so far to go in terms of customer service and it would benefit us all so much if we were able to improve it.

You are right. Unfortunately so many Bahamians are taught to only worry about what happens to them after they die. To concern themselves entirely with Jesus. And no matter what is going on in the world or in their community or in their family to simply "Thank God for Life." How many times have you heard that phrase?

If all you have to do is "thank God for life" - then it doesn't matter if you work at a nice restaurant and make good money. You can be sitting on the side of the road eating a leftover burger out of a dumpster - and that will keep you alive until the next day. Are you thankful? Is that what we should aim for in this country?

It probably isn't. BUT it IS what we are aiming for.

If people would stop giving money to all these churches and run them out of town - we could then start to live better, more productive, and more fulfilling lives. God put us here to live - not to worry every day about death and what we are going to do after we die. What we do after we die, He already has planned out for us. There is no hell. There is an afterlife. But it is AFTER this one. Let's take care of business here and now, just like Jesus fed the starving multitude because they were hungry.

We've got to get rid of these stupid churches !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully for these employees, the dumpsters won't be found empty.

Set up a Hard Junkanoo Café it will be successful. Am sure the employees will be more motivated as well.
