A newly-launched western New Providence office development has generated an “impressive” level of interest in the past two days, its broker yesterday revealing it should break ground later this year and create roughly 200 construction job.

Kevin Cross, the Cross and Mosko Real Estate broker, said he was confident that the level of interest generated by the Deltec Financial Centre development would lead to sufficient commitments for the developer to start construction.

“There’s quite a lot of interest, just in the past two days. It’s quite impressive, the level of interest we have had,” Mr Cross said of the 120,000 square foot office complex.

“Basically, it’s two buildings, and in the centre there is going to be a sort of staff amenity building, probably a restaurant. Under each building there is going to be two levels of covered parking. It will have views of the Lyford Cay Harbour. It will be top quality.”

Each complex in the centre will have five floors of 12,000 square foot prime office space. The centre, which is being developed by the Mosko Group and Deltec, is situated in close proximity to Lyford Cay, Old Fort Bay and Albany, and aims to fill the demand for high quality commercial space in the rapidly-growing western district. The five-acre site is targeting the likes of law firms and financial services companies as tenants and purchasers.

“We’re basically just getting a lot of interest at this stage, but as soon as we get a certain number of commitments we will start building. We have got the approvals and we’re just sort of doing all the fine details, getting all of the plans together. We’ll probably be breaking ground a bit later this year. It will probably be fully completed in about two years,” said Mr Cross.
