Stabbing suspect is 'shot making escape'

A MAN who is suspected of stabbing a woman in the head during a housebreaking was shot by the victim’s neighbour as he tried to make his escape.

The culprit was last night under heavy police guard at the Princess Margaret Hospital, where he is being treated for a gunshot wound to the leg.

The woman was treated for her head injury and discharged from hospital. According to police, the incident happened at 10am when two men broke into a home on Gulf Course Boulevard in Seabreeze Estates and stabbed the woman. She then alerted a neighbour who shot one of the men in the leg with a licensed shotgun as he attempted to flee through the door. The second suspect fled the scene.
