A major operation conducted by a large group of police officers throughout our capital only yielded one illegal firearm??? On ONE street corner in Nassau there are at least a dozen gun- wielding criminals. A major crackdown should have resulted in more than just one confiscated illegal weapon. C'mon police force! Y'all can do better!

Cobalt. You obviously do not keep up with current events. The police, defense force and customs have confiscated many illegal firearms through The Bahamas as of late. I am pleased that the police force have confiscated another firearm and arrested criminals. Who knows if the police didn't arrest those persons you may be a victim of crime involving those criminals and that gun. If you are not assisting law enforcement then shut your mouth.

That's just Bahamians Pat. When the police 'seemingly' are not doing their jobs, 'WE' complain. Yet when they are, WE still complain. lol

@pat242. FYI... I was speaking in reference to this particular headline; not that of the general performance of our police force. A major operation conducted in our capital which requires expensive resources, money and time should have yielded more than one illegal firearm, especially when there are more than two dozen illegal firearms on one street corner. This particular story is nothing more than a celebration of mediocrity. So until you can accurately interpret clear, coherent, written english; you shut YOUR mouth.

What's your point? Darwin died a long time ago. It is the highest obligation of a MODERN society to protect the weak. A weak person may be a great musician and a strong person a bad dad. This is what society is all about. We help each other. Not survival of the fittest individual but of the best society.
