In the wake of the deaths of Bobby Thompson, 32, Pachino Simmons, 28, and Harry Sands, Jr, 19, gospel recording artist and founder of 242Untapped Vincent ‘V-Mac’ McDonald, is taking his Declaration Tour to the island of Eleuthera, hoping to keep the youth there on track in spite of the triple tragedy.

“I do not know any of the victims personally, despite my visits to Eleuthera and some members of our team being from that island,” said V-Mac. “I do know that as a young man in the same age bracket, who has yet to reach my prime, it’s devastating. I’m close to my family as well so I can only imagine the pain they are going through and Eleuthera is going through, because the young men had strong ties to the same part of the island. I feel that in this time of mourning young people need to be reminded that it is their time to declare they are going to continue to live the best life they have ever had, but live it with purpose, positivity and passion.”

Joining V-Mac on the tour will be “I’m Gonna Wait” Marlin Award nominee Jonny Farrington plus 242Untapped co-host and “Never Been Kissed” author Davrielle Burrows.

“I’m very excited to be travelling to Eleuthera and the opportunity to slow down the concert pace a little by being able to directly speak with young people in the schools,” said Ms Burrows. “I think sometimes we as young people don’t really understand things older folks tell us until one of our peers go through it, or we experience it for ourselves. We are truly looking forward to encourage and inspire young people and reiterate what V-Mac is saying in his song ‘Declaration’.”

“I join with V-Mac in extending sympathy to the loved ones of those who lost their lives in the three traffic accidents,” said Mr Farrington. “I hope that our words, songs and actions give people a renewed commitment to continue to overcome in spite of what they are going through, especially as they cope with tragedies of people so young.”
