Graham Thompson, Nestle Milo on board as World Relays Bahamas sponsors

WITH only weeks to go before the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Relays Bahamas 2014, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) has announced two additional sponsors - Graham Thompson Attorney’s and Nestle Milo - who have signed on to be a part of the biggest sporting event in The Bahamas’ history.

They join Bahamasair, Kalik, RBC Royal Bank and RBC FINCO, Bahamas Waste Limited and The Bahamas Electricity Corporation (BEC) at the national supplier level.

Lionel Haven, managing director of the LOC, said the committee is pleased to see such iconic brands playing a part in the event.

“To still be getting sponsors on board, who want to make the IAAF World Relays the most enjoyable two days of sport our country has ever experienced, is phenomenal,” he said. “The involvement of both companies is a significant step forward for the event, and their support, alongside that of the other sponsors, will help ensure that we see a fantastic event delivered.”

Said Judith Whitehead, managing partner in Graham Thompson: “Graham Thompson shares the enthusiasm of all Bahamians for the upcoming World Relays, and is delighted to become a sponsor at the national supplier level for this exciting international event.”

Sophie Richardson, brand manager of Nestle Milo, the world’s leading chocolate malt beverage distributed by Lightbourn Trading Company Limited, is pleased to identify with an event that places world-class athletes and the Bahamas on the global stage.

“People worldwide, parents and children alike, love and trust Milo. Beyond the great taste, Milo is rich with essential vitamins and minerals. Nestle has served as a proud sponsor of the IAAF’s Healthy Kids Programme, and we are excited to announce today that Nestle Milo Brand will serve as a national supplier sponsor of the IAAF World Relays Bahamas 2014,” she said.

Richardson added that the sponsorship represents Nestle’s continued commitment to healthy living and the tremendous efforts of the IAAF.

“Milo is a first-class product partnering with a world-class event. We wish to commend and congratulate the organisers and extend best wishes to all the competitors. We encourage track and sports fans from throughout the Bahamas and around the world to enjoy Milo and these historic relays,” she said.

The two national partners already signed on for the event are Atlantic Medical and Caribbean Bottling Company Limited through Coca-Cola.

Over 40 countries have already signed up to participate in the event scheduled for May 24-25 at the National Thomas A Robinson Stadium.
