Consul General attends service for Bahamian pastor

FORRESTER Carroll, Bahamas Consul General in New York, attended the 25th pastoral anniversary service for Bahamian-born Rev Dr Jeffrey Ingraham at Calvary Baptist Church in Norwalk, Connecticut, on Sunday.

Born in Nassau, Dr Ingraham attended the St James Baptist Church located on Kemp Road as a child.

In 1974, he began his studies at the Florida Memorial College, graduating with a Bachelors of Science degree in 1978. He also received a master’s degree in divinity from Yale University Divinity School in 1981 and a Doctorate of Ministry degree from Hartford Seminary in Hartford, Connecticut, in 2001.

Dr Ingraham, who is active in the life of the Norwalk Community, has served on a number of boards and commissions. Presently, he is a commissioner of the Norwalk Housing Authority.

He has served as President of the Interdenominational Ministers Fellowship of Norwalk and Vicinity, President of the Norwalk Clergy Association and Moderator of the Fairfield Association of the American Baptist Churches of Connecticut. Among those attending was the Rev Dr Anthony Carroll, of Antioch Native Baptist Church in Nassau, who was the guest speaker.

Senator Bob Duff and Mayor Harry W Rilling from the City of Norwalk were also in attendance to honour Dr Ingraham.
