A 16-year-old boy became the country’s latest murder victim when he was shot during a fight early Saturday morning near Fleming Street.

According to reports, police received information that gunshots were heard in the Fleming Street area shortly after midnight. When officers arrived, they followed a track road between Fleming and Dunmore Streets, where they found the teen lying on the ground. He had several gunshot wounds in his body and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police also recovered a handgun from the body of the deceased.

A short while later, a 21-year-old man showed up at the hospital suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken into custody after he was treated and discharged.

Police also arrested a 20-year-old man, in connection with this matter, after he turned himself into police.

The Tribune understands the two suspects became involved in an argument with the victim which resulted in the teen and one of the suspects being shot.

Police have not released the victim’s identity, but The Tribune understands he is Carlos Taylor, also known as “Yellow”, a student at C R Walker High School.
