Man on bail arrested for damage to ankle monitor

A 27-year-old Freeport man on bail was arrested for allegedly causing damage to an ankle monitoring bracelet.

Inspector Terecita Pinder reported that shortly after 10am on Monday police received information that a man who was ordered by the courts to be monitored had damaged his anklet bracelet monitoring device, which is valued at $1,189.95.

The man was arrested and is expected to be charged in the Magistrates Court for the offense.

TRAFFIC INFRACTIONS

Some 30 motorists were cited for various traffic infractions on Monday during a road check exercise in Freeport.

Inspector Pinder reported that the exercise was conducted between 5pm and 7pm in the area of Sea Horse Road and Grand Bahama Highway.
