Woman dragged into bushes and raped

POLICE are on the hunt for a man who assaulted and raped a woman in bushes off Baillou Hill Road early yesterday morning.

According to reports, sometime after 1:20am, a 44-year-old woman was walking on Baillou Hill Road when she was “accosted” by a man who forced her into nearby bushes and sexually assaulted her.

Superintendent Paul Rolle, officer in charge of the Central Detective Unit, said police have an idea who they are looking for but no one is yet in custody.

Police are appealing to members of the public who might have information or might have been in the area at the time of the assault to contact them at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.

Investigations continue.
