Ever-growing: the New Nygard Island

Re: NEW QUESTIONS RAISED OVER NYGARD CONSULTATION.

ACCRETION is a fascinating phenomenon of nature.

For reasons which science cannot fully explain, the usually slow process of land expansion by accretion sometimes defies the laws of geology, and occurs quite rapidly – especially with beach properties owned by non-Bahamians.

A case in point might be the astonishingly fast transformation of the old Simms Point into the present day Nygard Cay.

In fact, if that miraculous rate of accretion continues, New Providence Island could soon be annexed by it and thus become New Nygard Island.
