A MAN previously listed on the police’s wanted list appeared in Magistrates Court yesterday facing a charge of rape.
However, the charge sheet for 38-year-old Clifton Morley was sent back to the Attorney General’s Office after the age of the complainant was brought to Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt’s attention.
Persons accused of sexual assaults involving minors are normally charged with unlawful sexual intercourse.
The complainant, who was allegedly raped on August 9, is 15 years old.
Last month, the Central Detective Unit put out a bulletin for Morley whose last known address at the time was Ida Street in New Providence.
He was described as being a dark brown male, medium build and about 5’ 8” and was wanted for questioning in reference to unlawful sexual intercourse.
