Woman badly injured as car hits building

A WOMAN was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Eight Mile Rock on Monday afternoon, police reported.

The victim was a passenger in a 2002 Toyota Will VS, which ran into a concrete building around 3:45pm, police said.

Inspector Terecita Pinder reported that the driver was travelling east on Queens Highway in Eight Mile Rock when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle. She said the woman passenger had bodily injuries and was taken to Rand Memorial Hospital, where she is listed in critical condition.

Ms Pinder said the vehicle and building were extensively damaged. She said police are continuing their investigation into the accident and are urging motorists to buckle up and drive safely.

MAN IDENTIFIED

The man who was killed on Saturday at a resort in Lucaya has been identified as Dieutel Norrius, 33, of No 22 Tasmin Circle, Freeport.

According to reports, Norrius, an employee at Taino Beach Resort, was working around 9am when he was electrocuted.

Inspector Pinder said investigations are continuing.

FATALITY VICTIM ID

The man killed in a traffic accident in Abaco over the weekend is 21-year-old Janero Stuart of Murphy Town. The accident occurred on Ernest Dean Highway. Stuart and three other persons were injured when the vehicle they were in went off the highway.
