Chinese man accused of unlawful possession of diamonds

A CHINESE man is in police custody after he was arrested at Lynden Pindling International Airport Thursday evening accused of unlawful possession of diamonds.


According to reports, shortly after 6pm, police acting on intelligence went to the Immigration section of the LPIA arrival area, where they arrested the 29-year-old for the possession of several diamond stones.
He was taken into custody. Investigations continue.


Police also arrested 33 persons for serious offences during an operation Thursday night.
Police say the men were wanted for various criminal offences, including drug and firearm possession.


In other crime news, police are asking for the public’s help in locating the persons responsible for armed robbery.


According to reports, shortly after 11pm on Thursday a woman was at her Rocky Pines home when three men armed with handguns robbed her of her 2002 green coloured Honda and handbag before speeding off.
