POLICE are asking for the public’s help in finding 19-year-old Roy Stubbs whom they would like to question in connection with a shooting that saw officers caught in an exchange of gunfire between two rival groups.

According to Chief Superintendent Paul Rolle, investigations were continuing into the incident that took place early Saturday morning.

Mr Rolle said police received information that there had been an argument at a party.

While officers were questioning the passengers of a car they had intercepted, Mr Rolle said another vehicle pulled up and a lone gunman got out, shooting a high-powered weapon. The Tribune understands that an AK-47 assault rifle was used in the shooting.

He said investigators do not believe that the gunshots were intended for police officers.

Mr Rolle was asked to comment on the matter after a document purporting to be a “secret” Royal Bahamas Police Force criminal profile circulated on social media websites yesterday.

It suggested that the incident was the result of an ongoing gang war between two criminal groups.
