Shockers top Pros, Rockets nip Regulators in NPBA

REAL Deal Shockers and Pyramid Food Rockets pulled off victories as the New Providence Basketball Association continued its regular season at the AF Adderley Gymnasium on Wednesday night.

While the Shockers shocked the Island Luck Pros 106-103, the Rockets nipped the Patron Regulators 89-88. The Regulators were coming off a 100-87 rout of the Rythm Rebels Monday night when the Commonwealth Bank Giants knocked off the Double R Cleaners Limited 80-69.

Shockers 106, Pros 103

Floyd Armbrister canned a pair of free throws on two clutch moments down the stretch to help propel the Real Deal to their victory. Armbrister hit two free throws for a 104-99 lead with two minutes and 32 seconds left. But after Island Luck came within one, 104-103, on a basket from Adorn Charlow at 2:03 and two free throws from Kevin Wright at 1:40, Armbrister hit the final two charity shots with 1:32 for the final margin.

Armbrister finished with a game high 26 points with five assists and two rebounds to lead the Shockers. William Rigby scored 25 points with 13 rebounds, Lamont Armaly had 19 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, Antoine Levarity scored nine points with four rebounds, Marc Taylor had eight points and three rebounds, Carlis Carey had seven points with three rebounds and two assists and Salathiel Dean had six points and four rebounds.

In a losing effort, Livingstone Munnings scored 22 points with 15 rebounds and two assists. Ron Marshall scored 19 points with six rebounds, Dion McPhee had 17 points and 10 rebounds, Charlow had 16 points, eight rebounds and three assists, Derek Ferguson added 14 points with three assists and two rebounds and Wright had 12 points, five rebounds and two assists.

Rockets 89, Regulators 88

David Taylor canned a free throw with 11 seconds left to break a 88-88 tie to seal the win for the Pyramid Food with just 11 seconds left on the clock. Taylor ended up with 19 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

Christorr Stuart pumped in a game high 26 points with nine rebounds to lead Pyramid Food to victory. Corey Williams also had 19 points and 10 rebounds with two assists, Tameko Moxey had 11 points and five rebounds and Kenrico Lockhart added seven points with seven rebounds.

Cruz Simon scored 19 points for Patron. Gameliel Rose had 16 points and 12 rebounds, Kenneth Pratt had 12 points and seven rebounds, Alex Rolle added 12 points with four rebounds, Cordero Thompson had eight points and five rebounds and Lamar Watkins chipped in with seven points, five assists and four rebounds.
