ARAWAK Homes is set to expand its latest housing solution through the development of a “30-40” lot subdivision in the Carmichael Road area, its president telling Tribune Business yesterday: “We’ll be moving full steam ahead come January 1.”

Franon Wilson said the housing developer had only just received the necessary approvals from Town Planning this week.

“We just got our approvals from Town Planning this week. It’s the same concept as Premier Estates, which launched last year. This new subdivision is going to be off Lazaretto Road in Carmichael,” he said.

Mr Wilson added that the developer was looking to begin construction on its latest subdivision in the new year.

“We will be moving full steam ahead with that project come January 1. In this one I think we are looking at between 30-40 lots. We’re looking at two-bedroom and three-bedroom homes,” he said.

“It’s a good location because, of course, the Carmichael Road area is the fastest growing area in all of New Providence. We’re very excited about this development. We cannot wait to get this one up and running.”

Mr Wilson said the response to the 16-lot Premier Estates development off Faith Avenue had been “a lot better” than initially anticipated.

Last June, Arawak Homes launched its model housing solution with price points that it said represented a 12-year low.

The company was was offering three bed/two bath residential homes with mortgage repayments starting at $227 per week.
