Children's Christmas show plunged into darkness by power cut

Parents and students of Queen’s College’s foundation years were left disappointed after the Christmas production had to be halted when a power cut plunged the auditorium into darkness.

With no way to play the recorded music and with many of the young children afraid of the dark, this was one time when the show unfortunately did not go on.

Instead, teachers and parents had to soothe children who, in addition to being afraid of the dark, were disapointed that they were not given the chance to continue.

Parents have urged the school to host an encore performance for the children, in the school’s phase one and two and grades one and two.

“The children worked really hard and were performing their little hearts out.

“It’s such a shame, but I guess these things do happen and there is nothing that can be done,” one mother said.

The power was still off as parents and children made their way home.
