On Da Hook

THE high winds and rough seas of the past few weeks in the Bahamas have hindered many fisherman and frustrated visitors. Some islands experienced high winds and large ocean swells sent by the cold front, Damon, that hit the east coast of the United States and caused damage and temporary closure of the Glass Window Bridge in Eleuthera last week.

Now that has subsided, the fisherman are hitting the “hot spots” and finding not only is there a crazy Wahoo bite going on, but several 30-foot Whale Sharks have been spotted throughout the islands, including one spotted by Bahamas Sport Fishing Network (BSFN) expert Chang Chin near South West Reef, Nassau.

BSFN expert Scott Thompson, Elliot Pyfrom and Matt Whitney took a 73lb Wahoo near Nassau while Keith Kelty, Matt Mulock and Ryan Reid landed a monster Wahoo near Hole in the Wall, Abaco.
