It's official: Operation Potcake a huge success

THE second installment of the mass spay and neuter project known as Operation Potcake was officially a huge success, with 1,220 animals fixed in just five days.

“It was absolutely amazing to see the Bahamian community come together with so many foreign volunteers, who came to our country at their own expense, to do something so meaningful.” BHS president Kim Aranha.

Yesterday was the last day that pet owners were able to drop their pets off between 8am and 11am at four locations around the capital, and pick them up the same day, free of charge.

Dogs were treated at St Bede’s Church Hall off Kemp Road, Our Lady Church on Deveaux Street off East Street and Oral’s Golden Auto on Carmichael and Golden Isles.

Cats were dropped off at the Bahamas Humane Society in Chippingham.

So happy that this project was able to be moved forward. The negative Bahamian vets that were making noise about expats coming in to do it for FREE when they (the Bahamians) could have done it for CHARGE must be pissed. HA!
