Police call for public help in tracking down armed robbers

POLICE are asking for the public’s help in solving three armed robberies that happened on Sunday.

A man was at his Coopers Terrace residence around 4am when two men armed with a handgun robbed him of cash and his blue 1998 GMC Jimmy SUV, licence number 2090262, before speeding off in the vehicle.

Around 7pm, police say another man was at Cyprus and Pigeon Plum Streets in Pinewood Gardens, when two men armed with a handgun robbed him of his red 2014 Yamaha motorcycle and sped off.

About two hours later, police say a man was at the Western Esplanade, when two men armed with a handgun robbed him of his 1998 Honda, license number 250516, and sped off in an unknown direction.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.

In other crime news, officers from the Eastern Division arrested three men and one woman during an operation on Sunday night.

A 21-year old man from Passion Drive was arrested for causing harm, a 34-year-old woman for stealing and a 21-year-old man of Carven Way Elizabeth Estates for housebreaking. Officers also recovered a number of stolen electronic items from the suspects’ possession.

In the final arrest, police took a 24-year-old man of Antigua Street into custody for stealing. Investigations continue.
