Bahamas Waste help Operation Potcake

BAHAMAS Waste Limited lent a helping hand to Operation Potcake, the programme to spay and neuter cats and dogs in The Bahamas.

“We were proud to offer assistance again,” said Francisco de Cardenas, managing director of Bahamas Waste.

“The work they’re doing in the community is essential in keeping our animal numbers controlled. Bahamas Waste was happy to be able to help them with the proper disposal of their medical waste and help ensure a sterile and clean environment for all the work done.”

This year’s session ran for five days. The goal was to spay and neuter 1,000 animals and Bahamas Waste was on hand each day to help the clinics by removing all of the waste products from each site. Pet owners were able to drop their pets off to be spayed or neutered in the morning at four locations around the capital, and pick them up in the afternoon on the same day, free of charge. Additionally, volunteers also collected roaming dogs and cats to be spayed or neutered as a part of the programme.

“Bahamas Waste’s assistance each day was paramount to our clinics’ cleanliness and success,” said Laura Kimble, Chairman of Baark! and Secretary of the Bahamas Humane Society.
