MINISTER of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Fred Mitchell met with Congressman Matt Salmon (R-AZ), Chairman of the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, at his congressional office in the Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol Hill.
Mr Mitchell, who was on a two-day visit to Washington, DC was accompanied by Dr Eugene Newry, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States, and Chet Neymour, Deputy Chief of Mission.
During the 45-minute meeting, Minister Mitchell and Congressman Salmon discussed several issues of mutual interest to the Bahamas and the United States.
Congressman Salmon said that he values and respects the Bahamas and US relationship and that he has visited the Bahamas on several occasions.
