Arthur's Town airport temporarily closed

THE Bahamas Civil Aviation Department (CAD) has temporarily closed Arthur’s Town airport, ‘in order to mitigate against any risk to safety as a result of works to the runway.’

The Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) has issued a notice to all airmen telling them of the closure.

It is anticipated that the airport will be re-opened on February 26.

The Bahamas CAD said last night it was coordinating the work along with the Ministry of Works, ‘to ensure that the short term repairs do not become overly disruptive.’

The CAD apologised for any inconvenience caused as a result of the closure.
