The All Abaco Junkanoo Committee is busily making final preparations for the Abaco Love Rush Junkanoo Weekend.

The event begins tomorrow and continues on Saturday.

“This is the fifth year of hosting the parades as a weekend affair,” said Wynsome Ferguson. Committee Deputy Chairman, “which has been a huge economic boost for the Abaco community, attracting not only domestic tourist, but international as well.

“This is a strong indication of the growth and development of Junkanoo here in Abaco.”

This year’s parade will feature three adult groups, two from Spring City and third group is from Green Turtle Cay.

In addition, there will be an appearance by the non-competing fun group The Sting, out of Nassau.

The event is again backed by Kalik.

Jan Thurston, Kalik brand manager, said: “Kalik is proud to support Junkanoo in Abaco, and we continue to do our part to ensure that the Junkanoo spirit thrives throughout the archipelago of the Bahamas Islands.
