Resort targets local market

Grand Isle Resort & Spa yesterday said it is courting Bahamian business in 2014, offering discounts on villas and a competitive airfare through its strategic alliance with Sky Bahamas.

The resort said that through December 19, 2014, Bahamians and permanent residents can take advantage of a 35 per cent discount on any villa if they stay three nights or more. The promotion also includes a $125 resort credit, and an optional special round-trip airfare of $150 per person with Sky Bahamas.

Grand Isle will officially launch its ‘Bahamian Resident Exclusive Getaway’ at the first annual Bahamas Rum Festival, on February 21–23 at Fort Charlotte in Nassau. The resort has partnered with John Watling’s Distillery, a top rum brewery and distributor, and will provide an expansive VIP lounge for guests at the event.

“Grand Isle is an important piece of the Bahamian community in Exuma, and we want everyone, not just tourists, to enjoy this amazing property,” said Grant Castle, its executive director. “For those who haven’t experienced us, this competitive promotion is an opportunity to see what the hype is all about.”

Bahamians and permanent residents have from February 21-April 30 to book their getaway package. Travel is valid through December 19. The promotion has blackout dates of April 22-26 and September 8 to October 12.

Guests should call (214) 393-2841 for reservations and use the Promo Code ‘Getaway’ for the hotel package and ‘Air Getaway’ when including travel with Sky Bahamas. A credit card must be confirmed at the time of booking, and all reservations are based on villa availability.

Grand Isle Resort & Spa consists of 78 one to four-bedroom villas. The villas range from 1,250 square feet to 5,200 square feet.
