FREEPORT – Grand Bahama residents and businesses are expected to take part in a boycott against the Grand Bahama Power Company today.

The Coalition for Concerned Citizens has called for a “voluntary blackout” asking consumers to turn off their power and turn on their generators from 8am to 9pm.

Consumers have also been told not to go in to pay their power bills today.

Eddie Victor, Convener of CCC, said the boycott is part of their continuing campaign to lower the cost of electricity on Grand Bahama.

Consumers should read their meters and take note of the reading.

At 1pm today, Mr Victor and other persons will march around the Power Company offices on Pioneer’s Way.

Members of the public are asked to join them as they march and pray.
