Team Brajaxba captures five singles

TEAM Brajaxba captured five singles at the Subway Junior Tournament in Freeport, Grand Bahama, February 21-23.

Micheal Major Jr got Team Brajaxba off to a flying start by winning the boys’ 10s singles, defeating Anthony Burrows 6-2, 6-1.

The boys’ 12s singles championship went to Jacobi Bain for the 3rd consecutive year with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Denali Nottage. Nagid Walle walked away with two singles titles, winning the boys’ 16s and 18s crown.

Newcomer Wayne Russell was a finalist in the boys’ 18s.

Winning the lone singles title on the girls’ side of the tournament was Emma Weech in the girls’ 12s singles championship by defeating Gabrielle Simms 6-3, 6-3.

In the boys’ 18s doubles, Jacobi Bain and Nagid Walle won the championship 8-2 over Wayne Russell and Steven Wright.

Team Brajaxba had its best tournament performance ever by being in five finals and winning singles championships.
