Another award for airport

THE Lynden Pindling International Airport has won another award.

Following close on the heels of being named the most improved airport in the Latin America and Caribbean region, the airport has now earned the 2014 Routes Marketing Award for airports under four million passengers.

Vernice Walkine, President and CEO at NAD, accepted the award at the annual Routes Americas air service development forum in El Salvador.

She said: “I am delighted that LPIA is the 2014 category winner for air service development and marketing.

“Having received ‘Honourable Mention’ last year, we are truly pleased to have been recognised in this way by the airlines, who nominate and select the winners in each category.”

LPIA beat out Hato International (Curacao), Akron Canton, Charleston International, Juana Azurduy de Padilla International and Sangster International Airports for the title. Other award categories included 4-20 million passengers and more than 20 million passengers.

“The entire airport community should be proud of our achievements and motivated to continue to provide high standards of performance to our passengers,” she added.
