Two men accused of robbing service station

FREEPORT – Two men have been charged with armed robbery in the Eight Mile Rock Magistrate’s Court.

Devaughn Hall, 20, of Hanna Hill, EMR; and Donaldson Hall, 19, of No 38 Clarke Avenue, appeared before Magistrate Gwen Claude. It is alleged that on Friday, December 27, the accused robbed Texaco Service Station (GAL Terminal Ltd) in EMR.

The men were not required to enter a plea to the armed robbery charge.

Donaldson Hall was also charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and two counts of possession of ammunition.

He pleaded not guilty to those charges.

Both men were remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison and the matter was adjourned to February 27, 2014 when a preliminary inquiry will be held.

In other court matters, a Freeport man was arraigned on gun and ammunition possession charges in the Freeport Magistrate’s Court.

Camarins Jeans, 30, of No 17 Bass Lane, appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Debbye Ferguson in Court One.

He pleaded not guilty to possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Jeans was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison in New Providence until February 26, when his trial is scheduled to take place.
