FREEPORT – Some $2 million worth of illegal drugs were seized by police during a drug bust in the Holmes Rock area late Wednesday evening.

Seven persons were arrested and taken into custody in connection with the incident.

This is the third major seizure already this year on Grand Bahama.

Inspector Terecita Pinder reported that shortly before midnight Drug Enforcement Unit officers, along with other law enforcement agencies, acting on information went to the Holmes Rock Grave Yard area.

There, they discovered that a 42-ft vessel had come ashore. A number of persons were also gathered around the boat.

During a search of the vessel, officers discovered 42 crocus sacks, containing what was suspected to be marijuana.

Inspector Pinder said the drugs, which weighed some 2,102 pounds, have an estimated street value of $2,102,500.

As a result, six men and one woman were arrested and taken into police custody.

Along with other law enforcement agencies? If it wasn't for the other agencies, there wouldn't have even been a seizure. Stay classy 242
