Traffic fatality identified

FREEPORT – The man killed in a traffic accident in Freeport has been officially identified by police as 25-year-old Wilner Michel.

Michel, a resident of Spinney Road, was driving a silver-coloured 2002 Honda Civic that crashed into a tree on East Sunrise Highway.

According to reports, he was travelling west on the highway when he lost control of the vehicle.

The Civic was extensively damaged and Michel died at the scene.

His death is classified as Grand Bahama’s first traffic fatality for 2014.
