THE TRIAL of a man accused of having sex with an underage girl was adjourned a second time yesterday in order

to secure the attendance of the defendant’s witnesses.

Alban Johnson, who is also known as “Medico” and faces a charge of unlawful sexual intercourse, is seeking to call two witnesses in his defence concerning his whereabouts and actions on May 31, 2013.

He is alleged to have picked up the girl from a settlement on a Family Island and had sex with her in a van. The location of the alleged incident is being withheld to protect the identity of the complainant.

Johnson, in his testimony last week, admitted that he and a friend picked up the girl and dropped her back, but denied any claims of a sexual encounter.

He has asked Crown prosecutors to assist him in getting his two witnesses to come to New Providence from the Family Island where the alleged incident took place.

Senior Justice Jon Isaacs yesterday instructed the nine-member jury to return to court on July 2 for the continuation of the trial. The accused is represented by Bernard Ferguson Jr., Algernon Allen II and LaNell Williams are prosecuting the case.
