TWO Haitians were arrested yesterday for possession of drugs worth an estimated $42,000 after a search of a home at Balls Alley, off Shirley Street.
A 60–year-old man and a 53–year-old woman are in custody after a team of Drug Enforcement Unit officers, shortly after 2pm, reportedly uncovered 37? lbs of marijuana with an estimated street value of $37,000 and half a pound of cocaine worth $5,000.
The suspects are expected to appear in court later this week to be formally charged.
Police are appealing to anyone with information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands).
