Armed robbery investigated

POLICE in Grand Bahama are investigating an armed robbery which occurred just after 5pm on Saturday. Police were told that a gunman entered a business on East Sunrise Highway with a handgun and robbed it of an undetermined amount of money. The gunman is described as being of slim build with a dark complexion. He is about 6ft tall and was wearing blue coveralls.

Police are also investigating a traffic accident that has left a 28-year-old woman of Brighton Drive in Grand Bahama with injuries.

The accident occurred just after 10pm on Friday on West Sunrise Highway. Police were told that there was a traffic accident involving a green 2001 Acura TL driven by a woman who, while travelling west, overtook a white 1998 Mazda Familia that was driven by a woman who was turning right into Regency Park when they collided.

The driver of the 1998 Mazda was ejected from the vehicle and received injuries to her body. She was treated by EMS at the scene and later taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital where she is detained and listed in stable condition.

SHOOTING INCIDENT IN ABACO

POLICE in Abaco are investigating a shooting that has left a 25-year-old man with injuries.

On Friday shortly after 10am, a man said that while in the area of Crockett Drive, Marsh Harbour, Abaco he was shot in his upper body by a man in dark clothing.

POLICE SEEKING SUSPECT

POLICE in Abaco are looking for Joseph Aime, 40, of The Mud for help in an ongoing investigation. Aime is 5ft 7in tall, dark and of slim build. Anyone who has seen him is asked to contact the Marsh Harbour Police Station at telephone 911/919, 242-367-2550/ 367-3437 or Central Detective Unit in Freeport at 242-350-3107/8 or call the nearest police station.

Investigations into these matters are continuing.
