POLICE have identified the man found dead with multiple gunshot wounds in bushes off Cowpen Road on Tuesday as 24-year-old Akeem Sands, of Sapodilla Boulevard, in Pinewood Gardens.
The man’s body was found around 9am Tuesday lying near bushes on a dirt road, an eight minute drive from the main road.
“Officers responded to the scene where they found a male lying in the street suffering from what appears to be gunshot wounds about the body,” Head of the Central Detective Unit Supt Paul Rolle told reporters at the crime scene.
The victim, who had multiple gunshot wounds in his upper torso, according to Supt Rolle, is of slim build with a full beard and a distinct tattoo across his stomach that reads “Young Money”.
Police believe the man’s body could not have been at the scene long as rigor mortis had not yet set in.
