Apparent drowning investigated

POLICE in Andros are investigating the death of a 19–year-old man of Bowen Sound, Andros, who apparently drowned while on a fishing trip on Wednesday.

Reports indicate that shortly before 11am, the victim and five other men were on a fishing trip just a few miles off Bowen Sound when he apparently drowned. HE was taken ashore and pronounced dead by the island’s local doctor. An autopsy will be performed.

Last Sunday, police reported the suspected drowning of a man who drove his SUV off a bridge at Arawak Cay. According to Supt Craig Stubbs, officer in charge of the traffic division, until an autopsy is performed police are treating the incident as a drowning.
