THIS WEEKEND, the members of Playhouse Entertainment will prepare to hit the town in full force as they stage a series of events in celebration of their fifth anniversary.

Playhouse Entertainment has been around for ten, but did become formally organised until five years ago with some of the leading deejays in the Bahamas joining up, all coming together for a common goal – believing that unity is strength.

The members that make up the group are Joe Koolz, Big L, Bravo, DJ A I, DJ Redz, DJ Pressure, Selecta J-Mac, Travi and Blacks.

In an interview with In Ya Ear, Big L said their fifth anniversary shows that what they believed five years ago actually proved to be true, there is unity Is strength.

“There were many people who thought that the group wouldn’t make it past a month because of the different personalities, but mutual respect within the organisation has us stronger than ever,” said Big L.

He said the popularity of the Playhouse Entertainment deejays speaks for itself, and on any given weekend at almost any event some representation of Playhouse is there.

Big L said corporate Bahamas has truly supported Playhouse Entertainment and the love from the greater community has been incredible. Some people may say they have fans, but Big L said to them, they have family.

Over the years, Big L said Playhouse Entertainment has made a lot of international friends, so in celebrating their fifth year they decided to invite an international line-up of performers.

“The Grammy Award winning Black Chiney, the ‘King Of South’ Florida Waggy Tee and soca queen Giselle D’ Wassi One (will be coming). On Friday. July 25, there is an all-inclusive party at The Mangroves starting at 8pm and then on Sunday a beach party will be held at the newly restored Harry’s Hut Beach starting at 3pm,” said Big L.

He said it has been a long, hard road being a part of Playhouse Entertainment, but an amazing journey as well, so with this weekend of celebrations they just want to show their growth as well as give patrons something different.

“This is the first time in a long time that there has been so many internationally renowned deejays at the same event in the Bahamas. We know that it will be a treat to all who attend,” said Big L.

He said they have not had events on this scale in Playhouse Entertainment’s history so far, but God has been good to the group and he knows that this is just the beginning for them all.
