A 28-year-old Freeport man was charged with armed robbery and causing harm in the Freeport Magistrate Court yesterday. Bernard Evans, of Westminster Drive, was arraigned before Deputy Chief Magistrate Helen Jones.

It is alleged that on July 16, Evans, while armed with an offensive instrument, committed armed robbery and caused harm to the virtual complainant. He was not required to enter a plea and was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison until October 14, when a preliminary inquiry will be held. Evans was not represented by counsel.
