A 24-year-old woman and her 23-year-old boyfriend from Andros are in police custody in connection with the sexual intercourse and molestation of a young girl.
According to police, the couple, from Calabash Bay in Andros, were arrested at their home around 6am on Wednesday. They were taken to New Providence, where the matter has been turned over to detectives from the Sexual Offences Unit at the Central Detective Unit (CDU).
Paul Rolle, Officer in Charge of CDU, said the woman, who is related to the girl, failed to report to police after her boyfriend allegedly molested the minor. He said the investigation has been turned over to the Attorney General’s office and the couple is expected to be charged today.
