Teenage girls among those held over possession of gun and marijuana

TWO teenage girls, a 39-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman are in police custody after they were arrested and accused of possession of an unlicensed firearm and marijuana on Wednesday evening.

According to reports, shortly before 7pm, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit, assisted by Mobile Division Officers, acting on intelligence, executed a search warrant at a home on Palmetto Crest off Marathon Road.

During the search, officers uncovered a handgun and ammunition with 2lbs of marijuana with an estimated street value of $4,000. Investigations continue.

Two men are in police custody after they stabbed and robbed a man on Wednesday afternoon.

According to reports, shortly before 4pm, a man was walking in Foxdale, off Bernard Road, when two men armed with a knife robbed him of cash and stabbed him a few times before fleeing on foot.

He was taken to hospital where he is listed in serious, but stable condition.

A short while later, Eastern Division officers, acting on intelligence, arrested two men, ages 28 and 19, in connection with this incident.

Police are also asking for help in locating two men responsible for an armed robbery that happened around noon on Wednesday. According to reports, two men armed with a handgun forced their way into a Golf Course Boulevard home occupied by a woman, where they stole a number of items before fleeing on foot. Investigations are continuing.
