Business hit by armed raid

POLICE are requesting the public’s help in solving an armed robbery that occurred on Friday.

According to reports, shortly before 1pm, a man armed with a handgun robbed a business establishment on Market Street north of an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing on foot.

Investigations are ongoing.

• POLICE seized two more firearms from the streets of New Providence in separate incidents on Friday.

In the first incident, shortly after 1:25pm, Mobile Division Officers acting on intelligence, conducted a search of a home located at Union Village, where they discovered a handgun with a quantity of ammunition.

Three males, aged 41, 27, and 23, were taken into custody and are expected to appear in court early next week to be formally charged.

In the second incident, shortly after 5:30pm, Flying Squad Officers, acting on intelligence, went to a bushy area located at Millers Heights off Carmichael Road, where they discovered a shotgun with a quantity of ammunition.

No one was arrested in this incident.

• AN 18-year-old youth of Claridge Road was arrested by Flying Squad officers for suspected armed robbery just before 2am yesterday.
