Grand Bahama shooting victim identified

THE man shot and killed last week at Coral Gardens has been officially identified as 22-year-old Jarreth Barry of Gambier Drive. Mr Barry’s death brings the homicide count to nine on Grand Bahama this year.

The shooting occurred around 11pm last Thursday in the Coral Gardens area, where Mr Barry was shot multiple times in his body. He was taken to hospital, where he later died.

No arrest has been made in the shooting and police are appealing to anyone with information to call them at 350-3107/8, 911/919 or the nearest police station.

• Police in Nassau are asking for the public’s help in solving an armed robbery early on Monday morning. According to reports, shortly before 7am a man was sitting in his gray 2003 Nissan Primera on Tucker Road when a man armed with a handgun robbed him of his vehicle and sped off.
