EDITOR, The Tribune.

The Bahamas Electricity Corporation (BEC) as we have come to expect is at it again. Relentless unplanned power outages are continually adding to customers’ persistent discomfort. Did the general manager say again that it was a generator fault?

Is that the official statement, sir? I could have sworn it was another act of God.

Apology not accepted, Mr Chairman. At this stage of the game, you must know that they are meaningless and unnerving. The Bahamian people just want their monopolistic power company to be firing on all cylinders exclusive of natural disasters.

Is that too much to ask? Or should we be expecting more nauseating sound bites?
