CHAMPION AMATEUR SHOW
CHAMPION Amateur Boxing Club hosted ‘The Spirit of Determination’ amateur boxing show on Saturday at the Platinum Sports Bar & Lounge.
Tyrone Oliver won on points over Don Rolle 21-16, Israel Johnson won over Marvin Burrows as the referee stopped the contest in the first round and Shawn Burrows won on points over Davon Hamilton 40-28.
In exhibition matches, Lennox Boyce fought Donovan Taylor, Jonathan Cox fought Antonio Gayle and Donovan Taylor fought Sayon Campbell.
There was one professional demonstration match between Lester Brown and Jordan De Simone.
The best fight of the night was between Jonathan Cox and Antonio Guile, the most improved boxer was Shawn Burrows, the most outstanding boxer was Israel Johnson and the sponsor award went to Tyrone Oliver.
Upcoming events include the Wellington ‘Sonny Boy’ Rahming Silver Glove Tournament scheduled for Saturday, May 31 at the Arawak Cay Fish Fry.
