Airport advertising in Freeport take-off

Advertising has taken off at Grand Bahama International Airport, with 20 major spots sold in the last four weeks to leading Bahamian companies.

Spots have been taken in both the international and domestic terminals, with advertisements from the Bahamian Brewery and Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) the first to be installed in both.

“We’ve had some great reactions to the new ads that are up in both the international and domestic areas of the airport,” said Sarah Kirkby of Barefoot Marketing, the on-island sales representaticve for Airport Advertising Freeport (AAF).

“This is a great venue to capitalise on the arriving tourists, winter residents, businessmen and women, and even our own Bahamians returning from vacation trips.”

Thomas Bethel, AAF’s vice-president,explained,” The response has been fantastic. We have sold 20 premium ad spaces in the last four weeks, which include some of the largest players in their respective markets.

“BTC, John Bull, British American Financial (BAF), as well as Coldwell Banker Sarles Realty, have all signed long term contracts.”
